when faced with extensive time in physical rehabilitation following an accident, vimbal™ Founder, Joshua Arnall took an unusual side-step - enrolling in a law degree.
this traumatic accident changed Joshua’s ability to work in his previous outdoor career; choosing to study law was part of his way to educate himself on his situation.
with a heavy study load during his time studying law, Joshua encountered a need for constant movement while also navigating physical rehabilitation. He also engaged with many others navigating physical therapy who were facing reduced capacity to focus, sit or stand for long periods of time, and those who now needed to find alternate ways to read and engage with their earlier careers.
the conversations with others in physical rehabilitation, and Joshua’s own limitation experiences at the time, triggered interest that led to neurological research.
Joshua engaged with leading surgeons and specialists to explore the barriers and enablers to neurological conditions, and then sought to build an immersive environment combining his research to help overcome some of the limitations.
Joshua’s legal career was thriving following successful physical therapy, but the heavy load of reading required for legal professionals was frustrating him. Still considering his earlier research that was initially focussed on navigating neurological limitations, Joshua then thought to apply the science to accelerated reading and learning as he waded through statutes, codes, civil, and criminal publications.
Joshua neuro-hacked his way through law school – no mean feat for someone navigating a traumatic injury, and one who had not completed high school.
